Structured Dialogue Method

Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning

The Structured Dialogue Method (SDM) is an innovative, engaging, evidence-based communications platform designed to enhance higher-level critical thinking and analytical skills in a variety of community and educational contexts.

Since 2016, SDM has been supported with nearly $1M in funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the National Science Foundation, the United States Department of Education and local organizations to support community violence prevention, education, and health equity.

SDM is situated within several ancient African and contemporary African American cultural traditions of oral communication.
